Hi. My name is Matt Macchioni. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS). I have been working in the mental health counseling field since 2017 when I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Colorado State. In 2019, I obtained a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from East Carolina University.

My clinical expertise includes working with children, teens, and adults, specifically those struggling with depression, anxiety, anger management, behavioral, emotional and relationship issues, substance use and addiction. Throughout the Triangle and Eastern North Carolina, I have worked with children dealing with divorce and difficulties at school or home as well as with parents wanting to improve relationships with their children and enhance their parenting skills.

I utilize an eclectic approach to counseling that is tailored to ensure the optimal fit and maximum benefit for each client. My approach focuses on techniques that include client centered therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), psychoanalysis, and motivational interviewing. I offer individual, couples, family, and substance use counseling sessions, and am currently offering Services Virtually for all of North Carolina.

I firmly believe that developing a therapeutic alliance and rapport with each client is an essential piece of the counseling relationship, and I have dedicated my professional career to serving and and helping to improve the lives of others through effective and competent counseling.
